Statement Concerning the Restoration of Figures

a solid-figure in the usual playworn condition on the left: the colour peels off, on the left side the same figure restored.

The
collectors of course only estimate items in original paint to be
collectible. I've
decided to restore
them in order to have the pleasure of the condition in which they once were made. It's a hard work for me trying to find out the original colours, because often only a few particles have remained. I try toexamine them closely under the magnifying glass and then complete the colour which was peeled off. I leave the places with original colour untouched apart from cleaning, even if the white has turned to yellow. In this way the figure remains in its aimable charme of 50 years age. |
